Our mission is to empower and support Veterans affected by Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) through comprehensive care, advocacy, and community engagement. We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for these brave individuals and their families by connecting them with cutting-edge treatments, personalized rehabilitation programs, and strong support networks. Through education, awareness, and funding, we strive to eliminate barriers to treatment and ensure that every veteran receives the respect, understanding, and resources they deserve.
Our vision is a culture where every affected Veteran receives the care, respect, and support that they need to thrive. We envision a future where advancements in treatment and rehabilitation lead to full recoveries and stable lives. We strive to understand and honor the sacrifices of those who have served and assist them through their recovery. By assisting communities of compassion and innovation, we aim to help in the transformation of the lives of Veterans and their families.
Danny served in the United States Army from 1999 – 2009. He was a 31U (Signal Support Systems Specialist) and spent time in Germany, Washington and Hawaii. His deployments took him to Saudi Arabia in 2001-2002 following the 9/11 Attacks, Iraq in 2003 – 2004, and Iraq in 2006-2007, where he earned his Combat Action Badge (CAB). He is a member of the National Infantry Association. Transitioning to the Civilian life, and getting into the VA, he began to seek treatment for his diagnoses. The Palo Alto (California) VA had a PTSD Outpatient Program that helped him tremendously through the years of 2009 – 2011. The VA was also able to provide Therapy and Brain Exercises to help, not cure, the effects of TBI. After he received treatments and was in a “better” place, he created a Facebook Group for the Soldiers and Veterans of 5/20 Infantry Battalion. Today, that group has over 1,200 members. Danny and this group have helped these Veterans stay connected through the years, help with peer recommendations for PTSD Treatments, and other programs both in and out of the VA System. There have been several suicides prevented due to the comradery on this page, and the ability for people to reach peers near a soldier or veteran in need of help quickly. He continues to help facilitate a brotherhood amongst the 5/20 Infantry Combat Vets by being active on the Group Page, and keeping people networked and communicating. He was recently presented with the Order of St. Maurice Award for his contributions to the infantry and veteran communities.
