I wanted to let you know I feel honored to be around all those dudes. You run across so many veterans these days who want to tell you how you can think them for being "Billy Bad*ss". You hear their stories and you question everything they are saying, because it sounds like "horse sh*t". Being around you guys brought me back to a feeling like I was among my own kind. You're doing good things man. The idea of getting rehab paid for is gigantic. You are going straight to finding the guy that needs saving today, and getting him help. That's legit. I know the cost is why guys don't go. It's like when I was talking to the Colonel, and he was talking about helping a guy who was suicidal in the VA Hospital, and he had to actually get them off their *ss to go help him. Nobody's coming to help us from the government, that's how we have to look at it. If we don't do it, nobody probably will. You're making a difference and you're saving lives. You should be extremely proud of yourself.
"Attending the Weekend of Remembrance with Triple Bravo Initiative was absolutely life‑changing. For the first time since I returned from deployment, I felt truly seen and understood. Surrounded by others who’ve shared similar experiences, I found a safe space to reflect on memories that weighed heavily on my heart."
Mike speaks passionately about the deep sense of camaraderie and support he felt during the weekend, describing how the carefully structured events – from guided memorial ceremonies to heart‑to‑heart breakout sessions – gently led him through a process of acknowledgment, grief, and ultimately healing.
He shares how the program honored fallen brothers-in-arms with respectful rituals, allowing veterans to pay tribute in a collective, meaningful way. That act of remembrance was, he explains, a pivotal step toward acceptance and peace.
By the end of the weekend, Mike experienced a profound shift: he emerged feeling hopeful, strengthened by new friendships, armed with tools for resilience, and reconnected to a purpose rooted in honoring those who haven’t made it home.
